I purchased this french press to be the smaller version of my Bodum 8 cup french press. My reason for choosing this particular unit was price and the fact that it had no plastic components. Plastic and very hot water just do not make me comfortable these days. My Bodum has a small plastic liner/strainer in the lid. I have written to Bodum to find out what type of plastic was used, to date no reply. Anyway the La Cafetiere french press does everything a french press is suppose to. The only issue I have is that the fit and finish of the components are not even close to the Bodum unit. I guess you get what you pay for after all. We will see if it lasts as long as my plastic lined Bodum?

La Cafetiere LX080200 Review by Fran

Its a french press coffee maker, it works as it is supposed to. However calling it 6 cups is stretching it allot, more like 3 cups (well american cups anway) It might be 6 cups if you like drinking out of expresso sized cups. Anyway, great product you won't be dissapointed if you get one.

La Cafetiere LX080200 Review by Elvia Rivera

Im very happy with my Coffee french press. I want to tell everybody! excellent, impresive! Good choice for my family...

La Cafetiere LX080200:: Description

Welcome to La Cafetiere, the real hot drinks experts. Our classic Cafetiere, which is now in its 40th year, was the original plunger-type coffee maker to be marketed in the UK. This award-winning product is now widely recognised as a Design Icon by houseware specialists worldwide and, of course, remains a favorite with customers to this day. As a consequence, the La Cafetiere brand has become synonymous with both design classic and its reputation for quality and innovation. The last few years have seen La Cafetiere develop further this enviable reputation by widening our availablity to the market place. Historically there has been a special emphasis on coffee; however, we have identified trends that have led us into the resurgent market for tea and even more recently into the growing the drinking chocolate sector, through the development of our La Chocolatiere range of products. La Cafetiere continues to work closely with professional partners in all areas. This has allowed La Cafetiere to expand on its familiar range of coffee makers and into the complete hot drinks story.

Beanpod Candles, Bird Of Paradise, 16-Ounce Review by S. hove (alaska, usa)

I have received the belgian waffle, beanpot candle yesterday. Shipping was great and it was packed just fine.
I love candles and have experimented with many different brands. This one is pretty sad. It doesnt burn. Even after I poured wax out to give the wick more air, it's just a tiny flickering flame fighting to stay lit.
The fragrance is less maple more nutty/spice - which I also like but didn't order.

Beanpod Candles, Bird Of Paradise, 16-Ounce Review by Frances S. Muckelroy (Texas)

This was one item that my daughter-in-law asked for at Christmas. She had been in a friend's home who had one burning. She fell in love with the aroma. She could hardly wait to get it home to lite in her own home. She loves it.

Beanpod Candles, Bird Of Paradise, 16-Ounce Review by M. Mowery "Kansas Mom"

I was shopping for a friend and couldn't resist buying one for myself. SOO glad I did. Even though I generally don't burn candles in my home, this one is great--not a lot of smoke and the smell is heavenly! It has a very fresh and relaxing scent. Not an extremely "feminine" scent, so my husband even likes it. Furthermore, this candle smells natural, like actual lavender and eucalyptus plants, not artificial "perfume" scents. This wasn't an extremely expensive candle, but it smells like it was.

Lorell 01064 Review by sluggerlee (NYC)

Hangers are not something one can get excited about, so what can I say? They work great and hold suit jackets so that the shoulders lay just right.

Lorell 01064 Review by Drive-In Kid (Michigan)

Just received these. The hangars appear to be sturdy for the price. I have quite a few coats that are fairly heavy and they seem to be able to handle the weight. I would recommend them. I was using the plastic hangars you see everywhere and they just don't cut it for anything heavier than a shirt after awhile.

Lorell 01064 Review by Fabu Nobo "Fabu Nobo" (NYC)

These hangers are perfect if you buy suits online and need a suit-coat hanger. I hunted everywhere in local stores and could not find a hanger which was "like what you get when you buy a suit." These are it!

GROSCHE GR-171 Madrid Report

GROSCHE GR-171 Madrid Review by Morgannin

I was a Barista in Germany and I am obsessed with coffee and espresso related gadgets. This is my fifth French Press. I bought two (can't remember brand names) during the three years I was in Germany and I have bought two (both were Bodum) since May when I returned to the States. I received this as a Christmas present from my mom in Germany. I have only been using this press for about a week, but there are some major design features that set this press apart from the others that I have owned in the past.

Coffee stays hot for about an hour and warm for about an hour after that.
The way that the bottom is angled helps to keep grounds out of your coffee.
This press has an additional filter at the spout. I tested it by intentionally letting some grounds get into the coffee. The filter actually caught about 95% of them.
This may sound like the wrong adjective, but the main filter is very "sturdy". If you have ever had a press with a very flimsy filter, you'll understand.
The press is clear, which is great. I like to be able to see what I am doing.
The size is perfect. My last few presses were smaller. My husband and I didn't even get one full cup of coffee each. Now, we each get about one cup and one half.
I was worried that the metal handle would get hot, but this is not the case. All of the metal stays cool.
When you actually press the coffee, the filter barely has any play. (Tip: If yours is wobbly, you may need to tighten the filter, which is removable.)
This press looks beautiful. I used it on Christmas while my in-laws were over. I got many compliments.

To conclude, this seems to be a wonderful press. Most presses only seem to last about six months. I will update my review in about six months, when I know how well it holds up.

GROSCHE GR-171 Madrid Review by giantsquid

I used to have a Bodum French press, and even being careful, always managed to break the glass carafes. A clerk at a store that sells them even said she thought the company made them so thin on purpose - so that customers would have to keep buying replacements. I decided to research a new brand and ended up purchasing the Grosche Madrid. I love it! The glass seems to be thicker, and it is very well made and sturdy over all. I also think this design is a lot more attractive and certainly less common than the ones Bodum offers. The screen part that filters the grinds is very fine and fits perfectly. I am definitely a convert to Grosche.
And on another note, even though I chose standard shipping, I received this item the very next day after I placed the order - I don't even know how that's possible!
Great all around!

GROSCHE GR-171 Madrid Review by Doug (Brooklyn, NY)

Sometimes pictures of some products can be a little misleading. That wasn't the case with this French press, as it's every bit as handsome as its pictures suggest. It's packaged in a beautiful box, which is very suitable for gift giving as well. The recipients will think you paid twice as much for it than you did! The press fits the chamber very well, and goes down smoothly.

Trust me, whenever someone sees this French press at your house, they will ask you where you got it, it's that pretty. And on top of that, it works beautifully too. WHat more could you want? You'll be happy with this French press, I certainly am.

I Just wish that they made it In a 12 oz size or a 16 oz size to make one coffee mug at a time instead of using a large press only half it's capacity. I find the right size press allows you to compress the beans better on the bottom if you use less grinds, and makes better coffee that way at the end of the day. If they ever come out with a small size in this press, I'll be sure to pick one up. until hen, I'm very happy with the Madrid press that i have!

GROSCHE GR-171 Madrid:: Description

Would you like a true premium French Press coffee maker unlike the common types everybody else seems to have? Quality you can see and feel, makes you the tastiest coffee or tea and gives a bold look and presence to your table top. Thats the MADRID French press coffee and tea maker by GROSCHE. A uniquely designed and crafted French press with fine chrome construction makes for a wonderful table top coffee and tea making experience. Commonly known as a French Press coffee maker, this style of manual coffee making has been long accepted as perhaps the best way to make full flavored coffee. By allowing the coarse ground coffee (which is the grind you should always use in a French press - finer grinds can seep through the filters) to infuser completely over a few minutes, the flavors and oils extracted in this process are unmatched. It has a dual filter system, with the main press being one, and another one in the lid as well. When You make your coffee or tea, turn the lid to close the press while your coffee or tea steeps, and turn it again to open it to pour. That will retain heat and allow for better flavor for your coffee or tea. The MADRID French press coffee and tea maker is truly a premium French press unlike any other, for a connoisseur of fine tasting coffees or teas. Replacement beakers are available from the manufacturer as well. The MADRID French press has an ultra premium chrome housing. It is dishwasher safe as well. Since it doesn't use any electricity, and is easy to rinse and clean, requires no disposable filters, a French press coffee and tea maker like MADRID is also perfect for for taking with you on your travels, or camping as well. For more information and product images and demonstration videos please see the manufacturer's websites.

T-Fal 08602PX, 08602PX, 08602PA Review by Mylinda S. Gomez "Morgaine" (Kansas City, MO)

These are the absolute best baking sheets you will ever, ever find.

I've had these for 18 years, since they first came out and they are fabulous.

Stuff sticks to them, yes, and like any other sheet, you have to clean them, however, these are durable enough to put on the clean cycle in the oven and they're just like new.

I'm going to replace them now with non-stick ones, but that is because I want non-stick at this point.

You will love them.

T-Fal 08602PX, 08602PX, 08602PA Review by Sue Malnory "Susie Q" (Sherman, TX)

I love my new Airbake cookie sheets. I have used Airbake for years but recently got a new oven with a smaller interior so my pans no longer fit. The new "bubble" design on the bottom increases browning without requring a longer baking time.

T-Fal 08602PX, 08602PX, 08602PA Review by MzGaz (Illinois)

My husband drilled a very small hole in the underside corner of my cookie sheets. That way I could submerge the sheets in water and then just let them drip dry with the corner down. Sometimes I squeeze it a little bit to get out the majority of the water.

Creative Home 77019 Review by Vlasta Prikazsky

I love the color of the tea kettle. But after a couple uses the cover of the spout broke off and the kettle no longer whistles.

Creative Home 77019 Review by DGII

Was not happy with the quality of this item. The handle was not attached in the center of the pot. It looks like it was assembled by a grade school kid.

Creative Home 77019 Review by Susan Harvey (New Zealand)

I was thrilled to receive my kettle from Amazon really quickly - long before I expected. It was disappointing to find a small piece of paper inside the packaging telling me what would have been really good information to have to enable me to make an informed purchase. ....Like "make sure that the kettle has no water left inside. This will prevent any possibility of rust appearing"

Also, when wiping the outside of the kettle - with a hot cloth - purple is coming off.

I love the idea of this kettle but I wouldn't have purchased it had I known all the information.

BTW...it took about a week to have little "almost rust" spots show up...and we tried to empty it every time.
